What better way to raise funds for a charity then to have fun doing it? JFAO is joining Movember, where men grow a mustache to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer Canada.
This event began only a few years ago in Australia and is spreading worldwide already. However, instead of going all of the month of November, we are moving it up a bit for our schedule.
Begining at Autumn Profile, Oct. 17th, have your picture taken showing that you have shaved that day and then it's all up to you from there what style you want to work with. Do need help deciding what style to work towards? Check out www.movember.com
You have to grow it as a mustache, not as part of a goatie, as this is a way for you to stand out and let people know that we are raising the awareness for PCC. Some members have asked about excemptions because of beards they have spent quite some time growing. I have no problem with the beard, just as long as the lip is shaved!
At Sing Swing, Nov. 20, during the Friday night social around 10pm, we will begin our judging process. This will involve the crowd deciding who the finalist are in each category and we will be posting their pictures on the JFAO website where the public will be able to cast their votes!
We will announce our winners Dec 1st.
Can't make it to some of these events? Don't worry, just have your picture taken with some sort of identification of the date (Oct 17th) such as a daily paper. Then email the picture to

. Or send your picture taken on the Friday of Sing Swing (Nov. 20th) to the same email address and we will put them up on projector for everyone to view.
Now most importantly, visit www.movember.com and sign up for an account for people to make donations to. Just click on "Register" then search for Junior Farmers. Once your account is up, spread the word and lets try to raise some funds for a great group!
