And just like that my trip has come to an end with memories that will last a lifetime! The rest of the trip was just as good as the first part. I spent a couple of days along the east coast with my 3rd hosts exploring the towns and estates, checked out a Gin distillery and enjoyed the famous chippy in the area! I then made my way to the other side of Scotland and caught a ferry to the Isle of Bute where I met my 4th and final host. With only a day and a half to explore the island, I was able to tour a dairy farm, take a picture on Canada Hill, wander around Mount Stewart and even ride the cart of some clydsdales practicing for the highland show. I was able to catch up with a friend of my families that stayed with my dad when she was over from Scotland on her JF exchange to Canada. The last 5 days of my trip were spent in Edinburgh exploring the beautiful city and at the Royal Highland Show seeing everything it has to offer. At the Highland Show we watched tug of war & pole climbing competitions for the Young Farmers. Wandered around and checked out the Livestock shows. My favourite part was being able to see everyone that I had met in my 3 weeks of touring around Scotland! With a lot of sad goodbyes, my 3 week, once in a lifetime trip came to an end and it was back to reality. I would absolutely encourage anyone to go on an exchange, it’s really hard to explain but the JF exchange is a very unique way of traveling and meeting people that you can’t get anywhere else.
