JFAO Annual Provincial Events

Winter Games

Winter Games is a provincial event held in early February each year. It is hosted by a different club each year and consists of several activities, centred on various sports. Throughout the day, clubs face off in the sports, which may include: basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, soccer and badminton. It is a day full of healthy competition and teamwork, followed by an evening of dancing and social time. Awards for the competition winners are given at the dance.

March Conference

The Annual Junior Farmers’ Association of Ontario March Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) are held each year at the end of March. Members from throughout the province gather in Eastern or Western Ontario (alternates each year) for a great weekend of leadership, networking and to recognize those who have shown outstanding community betterment, locally and provincially. It is an action packed conference with a dynamic group of speakers, sessions and facilitators each year. The new executive and agricultural representatives are elected and delegates are chosen for international exchanges at JFAO’s Annual March Conference.

Leadership Camp

Leadership Camp is held in June each year at various camp and conference centres across the province. It is open to all Junior Farmer members and senior 4-H members. Delegates unite and take part in various icebreaker games and dynamic challenges that allow individuals to discuss and debrief the tasks at hand and reflect on how they can improve the way they work together as a team. Leadership Camp offers various activities, which may include: canoeing, zip line, tight ropes, team building, and unique games that help encourage confidence, communication and goal setting. Delegates are able to take what they learn first-hand and bring that knowledge back to their local clubs and communities.

Charity Golf Tournament

JFAO’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament takes place each summer in August. The Golf Tournament allows partners, international exchangee’s, alumni, members, and guests to interact while having a fun day golfing. The tournament brings together past and present Junior Farmers, partners of JFAO, friends and family of JF members, alumni and supporters from Ontario’s agriculture sector, representing several counties and regions across Ontario. Funds raised support JFAO programs and initiatives, furthering the important work of JFAO.

Ambassador’s Banquet

Each year JFAO hosts the Ambassador’s Banquet to recognize past exchange delegates who have travelled internationally, as well as celebrate the exchangee’s who have visited Ontario through the summer and those who went on exchange in the past year.


Autumn Profile

Autumn Profile is a provincial event held annually at the end of October. It is hosted by a different club each year and consists of several stations located around the site. Teams of four rotate through the stations. Each station tests participant’s overall knowledge and skill and some activities may include: animal nutrition, machinery repair, obstacle courses, and livestock judging to name a few! It is followed by an evening dance and social time.

Sing Swing

Sing Swing is a provincial event held annually at the end of November. It is hosted by a different club each year and consists of several activities. There is a multitude of standard homemaking events that are held, along with a popular euchre tournament and other card events. Fantastic music is played for all who bring their dancing boots to partake in square dancing, two-stepping, waltz, jive, polka and alternative dance competitions. There is also exciting public speaking, whistling, singing and musical instrument competitions throughout the one day event. Often there are mystery events too! Following the day’s event there is a banquet, awards ceremony and showcase of the top performers. The evening ends with a dance and social time.

Ontario Young Farmers’ Forum

The Ontario Young Farmers’ Forum (OYFF) attracts some of the brightest young farmers from across the province. A two day forum is held in mid-late November, for those aged 18-40 and it is held in conjunction with the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) annual convention. Delegates have the opportunity to learn, connect and discuss the most pressing agricultural issues that are faced on a daily basis. No matter where you are from or what type of farming you do, you are welcome to take part in the opportunity to grow at OYFF. This event is open to all those 18-40, who are interested in or involved in agriculture, not only JFAO members.

This PD meeting is generally held in conjunction with the President’s Roast and Toast. See calendar.


This PD meeting is held in conjunction with the Annual March Conference and AGM.


The spring PD meeting is held in conjunction with the PD and club executive training. This meeting usually lasts for a weekend.


The summer PD meeting is held in conjunction with our Ambassador’s Banquet. The PD meeting is during the day, followed by the Ambassador’s Banquet in the evening.
